Wind Farm Zeewolde
We proudly present our successful contribution to the Zeewolde Wind Farm. Windpark Zeewolde B.V. is owned by a unique collaboration of more than 200 farmers, residents and entrepreneurs from the outskirts of Zeewolde. With 83 wind turbines and a total capacity of 322 MW, this is the largest onshore wind farm in the Netherlands.
The 200 scattered older windmills made way for 83 larger, more modern turbines. Together, these generate more than twice as much energy as the old mills. The Zeewolde Wind Farm thus provides green energy for approximately 300,000 households.
Our role included close coordination with various parties involved, including contractors, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, customers and turbine suppliers. Through our efficient execution and quality assurance, we have not only met deadlines, but also ensured optimal performance and sustainable success.
The project was realized in the outskirts of the municipality of Zeewolde, north of the A6 and west of the A27. The construction of the wind farm started in 2021 and completed in 2022. The park is expected to be operational for 25 years.

Realizing a large-scale wind farm without delays
Zeewolde Wind Farm had an ambitious goal: to triple the energy yield by replacing 220 obsolete windmills with 83 advanced ones.
This had to be done within a tight schedule and without sacrificing quality and safety. But complex challenges quickly arose:
- Engineering bottlenecks: The original design had to be tested and aligned with the implementation specifications.
- A crucial change of turbine supplier: Halfway through the project, we had to switch from Enercon to Vestas, with major consequences for engineering and planning.
- Tight deadlines and high expectations: Implementation planning should not be compromised at any time.
Make various calculations and simulations to recommend the right foundation
Ultimately, it took 68 kilometers of piles, 4,100 tons of reinforcing steel, 42,000 tons of concrete to provide the windmills with the right foundation. Our expertise ensured that each windmill was installed down to the millimetre. Years later, they are still exactly where they were placed - a tangible proof of our expertise and dedication.
