Pumping station Goutum

Residential and non-residential construction

A recent collaboration with architect Nynke-Rixt Jukema has resulted in the successful transformation of the pumping station in Goutum. This historic building, which has been a distinctive feature in the landscape near Leeuwarden since 1928, had stood empty for years. With our passion for preserving cultural heritage and keen eye for innovative architecture, we supervised the constructive development of this project.

The pumping station proved to be both a challenge and an opportunity. It was a challenge to preserve the existing structure while adding modern elements to make it suitable for use as a contemporary office. The collaboration with Nynke-Rixt Jukema was an essential part of our success story. Her innovative design ideas and creativity have transformed the pumping station into a unique workplace, while retaining its historic charm. Together, we managed to find the perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality.

This project demonstrates our commitment to the repurposing of existing buildings and the preservation of cultural heritage. It is an inspiring example of how collaboration between architecture and construction can help a beautiful building find new purpose.
